Lara Battema has been passionate about skincare from a young age.  From struggling with acne as a teenager to experiencing hormonal acne as an adult, having the right skincare routine has always been important to her.

 

In 2024, Lara decided to pursue skincare full-time. She is a Licensed Esthetician in New York and New Jersey.  ​Her goal is to help people feel empowered and confident in their skin by educating them. She launched @theathomefacialist to help people develop the right skincare routine with the right products at home. 80% of attaining healthy, radiant skin comes from a consistent, at-home routine with the right products.  Too often, the at-home routine is forgotten, inconsistent, or an after thought to in-person services. What happens at home is important and deserves more attention. To solve this, Lara offers services designed to help those at home.
 

Today, Lara works full-time as an esthetician in New York and lives in Jersey City Heights with her husband, Chris, her kids, Hudson and Fiona, her dog, Frankie, and her cat, Simba.
